Exotic species
Burnham House has over 25 years' experience in exotic practice.
Principal Jeremy Stattersfield has a particular interest in reptiles and is an enthusiastic exotics surgeon. We run special tortoise clinics pre- and post-hibernation; including bloodwork and radiography if necessary.
We have full backup from our Veterinary Nursing team who are all experienced in the handling and care of exotic species. Head Nurse Leasa Neame is one of only a few VNs in the country to hold the City&Guilds Certificate in Veterinary Nursing of Exotic Species.
Two of our Vets are qualified Marine Mammal Medics and can be called to attend stranded, sick or injured sea mammals.
We have full indoor and outdoor hospitalisation facilities for all exotic animals including vivaria, incubators, aviaries and isolation facilities; as well as accommodation for aquatic species.
We provide Veterinary support for local zoological collections and are experienced at providing full anaesthesia and surgical facilities in the field.
