How to find us
We are just off the main road through Walmer.  Heading towards Deal, come into Upper Walmer until you see the Marines Barracks on the left.  Opposite the Jubilee Gate is Cambridge Road - you'll see the Cambridge Arms pub on the corner and the turning is just before.  We are between the pub and the sea on the corner of Cambridge Road and Grove Road.

Photo Diary
We kept a photo diary of progress during the building work for the new surgery - here's what's been happening behind the scaffolding for the last four months!

25th September 2010

We're nearly there!  Starting to kit out Reception with desks and chairs.

Equipment going into the consulting room includes a diagnostic set for looking into eyes and ears.

The back room acquires a collection of paint pots and a new washing machine.

10th September 2010

The shiplap and painting is finished on the front and half the scaffolding comes down!

The front looking smart with new windows, boarding and paint - and the new name on the surgery windows!

28th August 2010

The decorating in the back room is finished...

...and it's ready for fitting with kennels.

22nd August 2010

Floors go down in the consulting room...

...and reception.  The central heating is fitted...

..and Uncle Roy fits phone and computer network points.

5th August 2010

The plastering is all finished and painting has begun.  This is reception - we might need a new desk...

This is the consulting room looking towards the back.  I don't think the kettle will stay there!

This pile of rubbish will become a kitchen.

29th July 2010

We are wired for sound!  And electricity, gas, telephones and computer networking.

New windows upstairs

Preparation for new windows

Walls are plastered - this will be our reception

This is standing in the consulting room, looking towards the door to reception

23rd July 2010

The new shop front goes in - the end is in sight!

New side windows - and a few gaps...

A new back door and top windows

19th July 2010

The building disappears behind boards and scaffolding in preparation for the new shop front

The side is prepared for new cladding

Downstairs, however, is still a work-in-progress...

Walls go in upstairs and it starts looking like somewhere someone could live!

New insulation goes in to help make the building as energy-efficient as possible

22nd June 2010
Upstairs becomes a big empty space...

...and downstairs becomes a scrapyard.

The boys keep themselves busy!

12th June 2010

Milly decides that demolition really isn't her thing

We discover half a dozen brass doorhandles in the ceiling

Uncle Roy thinks it must be time for a cup of tea

11th June 2010

The outside of the building

Inside downstairs

The old workshops upstairs

We haven't been brave enough to investigate the loft yet!

Planning permission is granted and we will be moving into 4 Cambridge Road, Walmer, Deal.  The building has been an electrical shop and workshop; and was originally connected to the Cambridge Arms pub next door.  These are the "before" pictures!
